FoxFire Project

The Foxfire Project, begun by Eliot Wigginton and his students in the 1960s, was designed to save from oblivion the local color of a particular Southern region: the dialect, customs, recipes, antiques, manners, clothes, games and rituals of a particular area.

As a class, the students enrolled in Ms. Rojo's AP English Language and Composition class have compiled their own stories for their own version of a “Foxfire E-Magazine” renamed "Leafing".

Just like every year

My family and I have few traditions but they mean a lot too us! As tradition we go too east ridge a place in the east side of El Paso. It's a whole neighborhood of houses filled with lights! My mom take us kids around the whole neighborhood too see all the beautiful lights.
My mom also likes to go to Disneyland every year! Well we try. We alway do the pirates of the Caribbean ride first because everyone can ride it! Then of course we go meet all the princesses that we can. My favorite is Belle. We all enjoy the faces my little sister makes when she meets the princesses especially Cinderella! We also open our Christmas presents at mid night all of my family both sides!

  1. My family does a similar thing at Christmas. We get all the presents from one family though if we cant see the other at the time.
