Book Learning Discipline
My parents have always stressed the importance of school and education early on in my childhood. They believe that it is the one thing that will carry you far in life. They believe in only self-dependence and the only way to achieve that is through book learning discipline. For my own personal benefit of "higher education" my parents have always sent me to a private schooling up to my freshman year of high school. I have thankfully developed some - what of the same ideologies that my parents have. I've began to postulate the Idea that I am the only one that will make myself successful in life.
During elementary at Vineyard, they always had many challenges for learning. I remember they tested us weekly on comprehension of what we studied. The teachers had many competitions between students in classroom and younger grades against older grades. I soon began to develop the competitive ideal for best student at an early age. I always had my mother or father reread my work and marked the ones I missed wronged so I could redo my assignment. I remained in Vineyard for my elementary schooling. I continued to do the same at my middle school at northeast Christian Academy for 3 years.
I soon craved the idea of a bigger school, for a different type of education. I made my parents promise me if I did well at my small private middle school, I would be allowed to attend a public high school. I thankfully succeeded in my goal of maintain an A average and was soon accepted into the magnet program at Austin, Chapin, Jefferson and the early college high schools. I decided to attend Austin High because of the criminal justice program and my parents attended its hallways long ago.
During freshman and sophomore year I maintained my usual study habits and kept my A average and top 10 percent of my class. Unfortunately my junior year has been rocky and my grades have slipped, but thankfully not drastically. I've had some issues with anxiety and I'm slowly getting it under control. I still continue to have an A average and rank top 10 percent of my class.
Grades do not matter too much, but the quality of your thoughts do (:
