There I was starting off to the window wishing I was out of this prison. As the teacher went on and in about American History. Mrs. Hernandez was always talking about that she was Native American and how the British took away her ancestors land and that she belonged to some tribe. School wasn't always a drag to me. My mom would always tell me that I would love going to school with all my school supplies all labeled with my name on all of them. I believe I liked school up until middle school. 6th grade pretty much changed my life. So much happened I got my first referral, I failed my first class, I got a cell phone!. These things either improved life or made it worse.
The only thing I really liked about school would have to be meeting new people. I've met my bestest friends because of school. I've met my soul mate ( as in friends wise ). Her name is Jalyn. Now that I'm a junior and school is almost over. I'm glad and relieved. High school has stressed me out so much! All this work it was just too much. Finally the bell rang, time to come back to reality on too lunch where we eat the nastiest tasting food ever! It's literally tasteless is had no taste. Thank god for hot sauce. Flat out school drags, friends rule, teachers drool, and I survive little by little.
FoxFire Project
The Foxfire Project, begun by Eliot Wigginton and his students in the 1960s, was designed to save from oblivion the local color of a particular Southern region: the dialect, customs, recipes, antiques, manners, clothes, games and rituals of a particular area.
As a class, the students enrolled in Ms. Rojo's AP English Language and Composition class have compiled their own stories for their own version of a “Foxfire E-Magazine” renamed "Leafing".
