When I first began sixth grade my aunt and three cousins came to live with my family while my uncle was deployed. Nine of us in a four bedroom house with at least two people in every room, crowded isn’t the word to describe it. Six kids ranging from newborn to 14 lived in our house. It was hectic daily, I loved every second of it. My cousins are more like my siblings or babies than anything else. Their names are Owen (4), Rose (3), and Ben (newborn), with me (11) and my brothers Jacob (14) and Will (9). To this day they still say they want to live with us again, especially Owen.
On the weekends I would take Owen and Rose to the park after making their lunch. We’d come home and eat dinner then I’d give them a bath and put them to bed. As Ben got a little older he would run around in his walker screaming to make sure everyone knew he was there. Being the youngest also made him to loudest. I got to see them in their first snow. Since we livedin Georgia none of us had warm clothes. The younger kids had to wear the older kid’s winter clothes from Maryland. Everyone was overjoyed that night. The babies stayed up past their bed times and nobody cared. It was one of the best days I can remember having. Everyone had beenso excited for the snow nothing else really mattered at that point.
It was really hard on all of us when they had to leave. Still every time we see each other we’re like those little kids in the snow again, we get so excited to be together. I miss my little cousins. I can’t wait until I get to see them again. I love them to death and I can’t wait stand not being around them as much as I used to be anymore.
